Woodvale HUB is a citizen-initiated project to improve the underutilised and negatively-perceived public space of Woodvale Park, situated on the Upper Shankill in West Belfast. Local residents have developed the idea of a hybrid-use building or “HUB” in the park that would, in their own words “make the park equally welcoming to users including those traditionally at odds (e.g., young adults and pensioners, racial minorities and long-term white residents, etc.) all of whom feel a sense of 'ownership' of the place”.
